Creating Awareness for CASA

Each Leadership Development Academy of Rock County participant works with a small group of their fellow class members to plan and execute a collaborative project that addresses a community need. These projects and their results are presented each May and serve as the program's capstone experience.

Creating Awareness for CASA

A project team from the Leadership Development Academy of Rock County (LDA) group is creating awareness for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children). CASA recruits and trains community members to become advocates for abused and neglected children in Rock County. CASA advocates are the voice in court for an abused or neglected child, making sure they are not “slipping through the cracks” of the child welfare system.

LDA is partnering with Drywater Productions to produce a promotional video that CASA will utilize to assist in their efforts to increase community awareness, generate volunteer advocates, solicit donors and facilitate fundraising. Currently, 122 children are waiting to receive a CASA volunteer.

The project team turned their efforts to CASA after learning about the needs of our local children and the advocacy work of CASA. The majority of CASA’s funding comes from private donors like you.
